ABOUT LEONARD FORD  

Leonard ford also known as Louie Rankin was an icon in the entertainment industry who paved the way for many aspiring actors and artists around the world! He believed in education and always encouraged every young person he came across to stay in school. Having worked with various people in the entertainment industry, and making his name known world-wide, Louie is missed by many.

THE SCHOLARSHIP

Beginning July 2023, Re-Build Me will be offering scholarships to five(5) post- secondary students entering their first, second or third year of studies of $1000 each and five(5) bursarys of $500 each to recent high school graduates of Peel Schools.

This scholarship is available to students of any program who identify with the Black community, have a financial need and have overcome challenges and obstacles surrounding violence. 

Violence is a rising and continual concern among the black community,  this scholarship aims to reduce the rate of incarceration, gun injury, death and homelessness by providing students with the opportunity of furthering their educational opportunities. While inequality, poverty, mental health issues and substance abuse, just to name a few, face our community, not pursuing post secondary education, or dropping out of school due to lack of finance should not be an option. The scholarship award will be presented to the winners, by his children, his family and his friends annually.
